About Anne Cleary, LMHC
As a licensed mental health therapist (LMHC) in Fernandina Beach, Florida my passion is helping people live a more whole, authentic and healthy life. People come to therapy seeking help for a variety of issues but the at the heart of what drives them to start this journey is a desire to be more connected; to themselves, to others, and to life itself. Unfortunately, often for circumstances out one's hands, we have acquired blocks, defense mechanisms and "scars" that prevent us from enjoying a healthy emotional life. After graduating from Villanova University in 2001 and pursuing a marketing career for 7 years in Philadelphia I switched gears to follow my passion and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Florida. I have been helping people heal and change their lives since 2009 and consider my work an honor and privilege. I specialize in treating trauma (childhood abuse, sexual assault, veterans, bullying etc.) anxiety and mood disorders (like depression and bipolar disorder), survivors of childhood sexual abuse, survivors of adult sexual assault, and veterans. I also enjoy helping clients with phase of life (young adult, retirement, empty nest) and transition issues (new parenthood, marriage, divorce, loss), issues related to infertility, postpartum issues, relationship/marriage problems, self-esteem and empowerment, and improving communication in all areas of your life. I utilize a variety of therapies including EMDR, person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, Imago therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Existential and Schema therapy.
